Project description:The project is focused on two key realms of present power engineering, where market economy principles apply:power quality and reliability of electrical energy supply. Problems with power quality are actual due to the following reasons: power electronics use, implementation of renewable energy sources, massive use of light sources with electronic ballasts. Mentioned technologies demand the definition of energetic disturbances and analysis of their impact on systems in power system. Reliability of electrical energy supplies is tightly connected with reliability and safety of power system. Implementation of probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) makes it possible to reach more effective raise of reliability and safety of the power system. PSA method as a tool of reliability and risks analysis of potentially dangerous technologies has many successful applications. Utilization of the PSA method can bring effective monitoring and risk control to the operation of the power system.
