|Project description:||Characteristics of hydrologic and hydrometeorological extremes resulting from complex hydrological and meteorological events were usually characterized by a single value in the past despite of the fact these are mutually dependent both in time and space (such as flood peak and volumes, volumes and flood duration, estimates of precipitation intensity with a given duration and frequency etc.). The study of the joint probabilistic behavior of probabilistic properties of these phenomena can lead to an improved understanding and description of the regime of extreme values for risk analysis. The project aims to study the multivariate dependence properties of complex hydrometeorological and hydrological variables by copula functions and multivariate analysis including self-organizing maps both at site and regionally in the specific physiographic properties of the mountainous regions of Slovakia.|
