|Project description:||The hydropower belongs to the renewable sources of energy, which increased use is required from the EU. Particularly in recent years, for the energy utilization of water streams with small hydropower plants, an increased stress is laid on their sensitive incorporation in the natural environment. This applies not only to own engine room of the SHPP, but especially on the incorporation of the water intake in the river bed. The least interference with the natural riverbed is the construction of the bank intakes that do not require a weir or any other structure across the river bed and thereby creating a barrier in the stream (e.g. for fish). Such a solution of the SHPP?s intake structure is the subject of the physical research of this project. According to the experience of recent years, these types of structures are suitable not only from the ope ational point of view, but also from the view of the environmental protection.
