Project description:Contacts between deformable bodies or between a deformable and a rigid body belong to frequent mechanical phenomena. A variational inequality is their most suitable model. In contrast to stationary (elliptic) variational inequalities, in the case of nonstationary variational inequalities there is enough unsolved problems, of the existence and the uniqueness of a solution among others. We plan to investigate in the project mainly to quasistatic and dynamic contacts modelled by pseudoparabolic, integrodiferential and hyperbolic variational inequalities. Moreover we will solve also the optimization problems connected with variational inequalities mentioned above.
