|Project description:||Advanced chemical synthesis of coordination compounds containing mono and polynuclear complexes of transition metals with molecular structure, that can be capped in various electronic states. The electronic multistability is induces either by physical incidents (electromagnetic radiation, temperature, pressure, magnetic field), or the chemical aspects (substitution, solvation, doping). Physical research covers the temperature interval from 4 K to 400 K by using UV-VIS or laser-excitations, Moessbauer spectroscopy, UV-VIS-NIER spectroscopy and taking the magnetization data by the SQUID magnetometer and magnetic susceptibility by AC susceptometer. The aim of the research is to obtain molecular switchers (synthons) based upon molecular coordination compounds. Synnergy effect is expected between the molecular effects (structural changes, isomerization, and volume change) and magnetic behavior (e.g. the spin crossover). Multistable molecular compounds are perspective in applications as recording units of high density, adaptive materials (e.g. in displays) as well as nanoscopic functional units.|
