|Project description:||The European Commission has developed a common European Framework for teacher competences and qualifications, however, there is no common focus on the specific meeds of new entrants to the profession or the concomitant needs of those who will induct and support them in schools. This project will address: - the role of supporters - identify and analyse what currently takes place - devise instruments to identify the needs of mentors/supporters - facilitate cross European debate about "good practice" - formulate a portfolio of support strategies for those involved in supporting novice teachers - stimulate exchange between teachers and teacher educators - add to the European policy debate on the induction and support of novice teachers - provide training and support for those involved with novice teachers in schools and beyond|
