|Project description:||Large scale attempt of social housing refurbishment for energy efficiency requires major financial resources which may not easily be made available. Energy neutral, industrial and flexible roof-top extension retrofit has been proven as a viable solution, both technologically and financially. Roof-top extension retrofit combines energy-saving measures with social, ecologic and economic advantages. The consortium members of SuRE-Fit have realised various projects considered as best practices on social housing refurbishment for energy efficiency in the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Russia, etc. The main aims of SuRE-Fit are to synthesise cutting edge technologies of roof top extension retrofit for high-rise social housing and develop process models and tailor-made guidelines for broader implementing the innovative solution in Europe, including the application small-scale RES installations. These will be achieved through survey of best practices, knowledge exchange and synthesis of through case studies and design projects, and dissemination and implementation.|
