Project description:A thorough preparation of water plants operation is essential for a workable water management and power system of the Váh Cascade. This presupposes high degree of knowledge of the behavior of individual elements comprising this complex system. Today, the parameters of flow wave transformation at sections with no direct hydraulic bonds are set exclusively on experience or professional estimation of dispatchers, using the single value of run-in time for the particular riverbed section. This leads to inconsistencies between the planned and spot flow at different profiles of the system, and has significant impact on the time management of regulated flows and the follow-up time deployment of individual water plants. If more accurate, such information would dramatically improve the accuracy of preparing water plants operation. Using modern hydrológie and hydraulic knowledge and procedures, the project submitted addresses the possibilities of setting up simulated models of flow wave transformation at sections with no direct hydraulic bonds at the Váh Cascade, including the possibility of their implementation into the process of preparing operation and operative management of water plants. This would improve the accuracy of operation planning, particularly, in providing regulatory services for the electrification system.
