|Project description:||Only few engineering structures are so closely linked with the natural environment, such as hydraulic structures (HS), especially dams and levees. The question of their safety is therefore extremely complex problem which is multiplied if HS are built from the local materials. The variability of natural factors accessing to the process of evaluating of their safety confirm it. This is particularly the degree of reliability of hydrological data, time-based and spatial diversity of the geological and hydrogeological documentation etc. The importance should be given to the method of determining the properties of subsoil and procedures of their assessment. All these attributes are further augmented by the influence of long-term hydrodynamic loading, which may cause significant changes in the properties of the subsoil environment. Goal of the project is to analyse these effects on HS in Slovakia using numerical, geophysical, laboratory and statistical methods and processing of data files of in-situ measurements.|
