Project description:
The project will be focused on the generalization of biotic characteristics of mountain and piedmont watersheds based on bioindication properties of ichthyofauna and flora. Prognosis of the impact of important characteristics of the ecosystem in rivers (specifically the riparian vegetation, wetland systems and climate change) will be a part of the project. Generalization and regionalization will result from a set of measurements in selected areas of Slovakia and Austria. Soft computing techniques that are referred to as data driven models will be used for data analysis and prognosis of development of the ecosystem in terms of human activities and expected climate change. Generalized biotic characteristics will be the result of the project that will allow modeling of aquatic habitat quality of the proposed river modification and restoration measures, but also for the impact of climate change on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems in watershed.
