|The aim of the project is the design and experimental verification of intelligent rehabilitation aid system (pilot intelligent crutch). The crutch will be able to learn proper movement patterns tailored to the patient under the instructions of the therapist using neural networks and consequently it will guide the patient to use it properly. From the long-term perspective, the crutch will also collect the information on its use with the aim of providing the data to the rehabilitation expert. Currently used rehabilitation aids sometimes have built-in sensors, but they provide only information on the current status enabling monitoring of the selected parameters during rehabilitation exercises with the active participation of the expert. For these reasons, design and a pilot implementation of artificial intelligence principles (situation recognition, machine learning, classification) into the selected adjuvatics is considered highly topical and necessary. Afterwards, the implemented neural network will be able to recognize and appropriately warn the user (light, sound, vibration), if during the subsequent individual practise, the crutch is used incorrectly by too big or too small load, wrong positioning of the crutch to the body, improper movements and other. Design and implementation of data sensing, processing and interpretation based on artificial intelligence using modern technical devices (sensors, mcu) with sufficient power and minimal size, weight and power consumption is necessary in order to achieve the objectives of the project. The benefits of the projects lie in eliminating painful conditions, shortening the rehabilitation process and sooner return to active life. This will increase the quality of the patient’s life and decrease financial loss of the patient during their sick leave. The primary customer of the project result is the TNtech, s.r.o., but the results in general are applicable for all convalescents, physically disabled persons and seniors.|
