Hydrogeological drought and its influence on usable groundwater amountsSupervisor: prof. Ing. Viliam Macura, PhD.
This page shows details on the project. The primary projects are displayed together with a list of sub-projects.
Hydrogeological drought, one of the natural hazards, by which because of different reasons the negative unbalance between recharging and discharging of groundwater amounts occurs, has important influence on groundwater bodies? status. No investigation of hydrogeological drought was done within the basic hydrogeological research until now. Reasons of drought occurrence, parameters of its assessment and classification will be studied, together with its effect on usable groundwater amount changes. Methods for assessment and prognosis of its influence on usable groundwater amounts together with proposal of consequences mitigation, as one of the contributions to implementation of the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC will be verified on the example of the part of Prešov County. The area is has unfavorable hydrogeological conditions with bad accumulation properties of rock environment from the point of view of balancing of meteorological and hydrological drought consequences.
