Title of the thesis:Extracting information from board game using computer vision
Summary:Over last decades, there has been significant growth of the usage of various devices that allow us to capture images and videos. As the amount of available data of such as kind grows, so grows the attention that is being paid to the possible practical usage of the information contained within these data. In terms of extracting information from multimedia data of this kind, the fields of image processing and computer vision play the most important role. This work analyses the use of various approaches and methods of computer vision within the domain of board games. It focuses on the experimental evaluation of selected methods and algorithms, based on which a new approach for the extraction of information for the cruciform board game Ludo has been proposed. The prototype implementing the proposed approach has been developed using the still images, yet, during the final phase of the project, the prototype capable of evaluating the score of players from the video stream in real time has been developed. Within the end of this work, the properties and the possible future use of the proposed approach as well as the current state of the prototype have been discussed.
Key words:computer vision, board games, game score evaluation, image recognition
