Title of the thesis:Electron Beam Welding of High-alloy Steel to Copper
Summary:The aim of bachelor's work was to summarize the theoretical knowledge from the field of electron beam welding applied for combination of metallic materials as high-alloy austenitic CrNi steel and copper. At present, great attention is paid to weldability of combined materials in the world. These materials found their application mainly in cases where the mechanical and physical properties of one material are insufficient. The introduction of the presented bachelor's work is devoted to analysis of historical development in electron beam welding. A part of work is dealing with the chemical composition and properties of welded materials. Also their weldability is characterized at the same time, which is predicted mainly on the basis of binary and ternary diagrams. Besides that, also proper technology of electron beam is described. The parameters and conditions of welding are selected more or less just informatively. In the conclusions, there was suggested quality inspection of welded joints with special attention devoted to optical microscopy, microhardness measurement and EDX microanalysis. The advantages of electron beam welding of the given material combination consist mainly in the fact that the CrNi steel would be thermally affected to minimum extent and that welding of copper will be prevented against the unfavourable effect of oxygen and hydrogen. The knowledge attained at elaboration of this bachelor's work will be a suitable basis for further solution of welding the mentioned combination of materials with electron beam. Emphasis will be paid mainly to the structural stability, including the formation of intermetallic phases. By use of available software also the life of welded joints can be predicted.
