Title of the thesis:Analysis of speech disfluencies
Summary:Disfluencies in speech are any irregularities, blocks and non-lexical vocables that make speech harder to understand. When these disfluencies are more pro-nounced and has impact on one's self-confidence, it is considered to be handicap called stuttering. In speech therapy for stuttering it is important to keep track of patients improvements. Different methods were developed for this purpose, which scan through speech signal in time and frequency domain and evaluate seriousness of disfluency. In this work we focused particularly on detection of repetitions. We based our detection on SVM classifier, which was labeling 800ms long samples with fluent disfluent and speech. As base parameter we used MFCC coefficients. But our work was focused more on other parameters, that can im-prove performance. We used higher frequency energy, number of silence-voice transitions, average length of silence segment and variability of its length. Result-ing improvement of classification rate was from 81.2% to 84.19%.
Key words:disfluency, MFCC, SVM
